Rancho Sin Vacas is a beautiful, secluded, 12-acre property on the North Fork of the Duchesne River. Located at the base of the Ashley National Forest in Hanna, Utah. Hanna's population is about 100, luckily, my site is sandwhiched between Navajo Red Sandstone outcroppings. This no traffic light, one gas station town is 78 miles east of Salt Lake City. Has the charm of locals waving at on coming cars and a grocery store that sells milk and horseshoes by the pound. My Ranch house has an updated kitchen complete with a set of new appliances, dining room, a living room with a new leather queen bed sofa sleeper, a full bath, one large bedroom with a queen bed, and a bedroom cantilevered over the river with a queen bed (max occupancy of rented area is 6). The cantilevered room was originally built 40 years ago and is the only legal cantilevered structure over the Duchesne River. Windows are on all sides, with electric heat, not radiant. The front deck of the ranch house is 25 feet from the river and a large fire pit 15 feet from the river. A small campfire area and seating is on the river bank under the cantilevered bedroom...3 feet from the river. I own about 1/4 mile of river frontage, both sides...three to four fishing holes are present, where brown and rainbow trout reside. Guests can fish up and down the Duchesne River for miles, since the State of Utah Department of Resources purchased these rights in the 70's. So fish as long as you want and come back and hang out near the river... the mesmerizing sound of the river and the the bright stars at 6800 feet is spectacular way to unwind for the day. Only street legal vehicles are allowed in this valley that has 3 camp grounds, Aspen, Castle Cliff Campground, Hades, and Iron Mine, but if you enjoy 4 wheeling, 100's of miles of trails in the High Uinta's, right off Wolf Creek Pass, are just a 10 minute trailer ride away. Street legal Razors are allowed to leave right from the property to 100's of miles of mountain trails. There is also a turn off in Hanna, just 10 minutes the other way, that takes you to 4 wheeler trails to the top of Castle Rock where you get a view of Hades Lake and our valley, or take the trails to Still Water Dam, all are located with in Ashley National Forest. Starvation Lake is a 45 minute drive from the cabin and is great for all boating activities. It also has a nice beach area and rentals of all sorts for fun on the lake. We enjoy Starvation, because its not as busy as other Utah lakes. Razors are allowed to drive in the valley if they are street legal, bring your 4 wheelers but if they aren't street legal, you'll have to trailer them a short distance to the many trails in the Uinta Mountains. Bring all of your toys because there is something to do with them all year round, bikes, horses, fishing poles, tubes, 4 wheelers, Razors, hiking shoes, snow shoes, cross country skiing, snowmobile right from the house plus many trails from Wolf Creek Pass, and boating! We spend time at the cabin in the summer and trailer our boat to Starvation Res (little Lake Powell). it is beautiful and less crowded than any other Utah lakes and only 46 miles from the cabin. The house overlooks Swift Creek (seasonal creek that runs year round based on mountain snow pack) that runs through the property and makes a beautiful waterfall sound. About our private community: At 8000 feet, and near many small lakes, this is the perfect place for a vacation. There are approximately two miles of paved road and in excess of 30 miles of gravel roads. The area is wooded with the lower elevations populated with scrub oak, sagebrush, buck brush, choke cherry and rabbit brush. The higher elevations have aspen and fir trees. This beautiful log cabin resides in Woodland, Utah at the base of the Uinta National Forest. 8 miles outside of Kamas. Nearby there are many ski and snowboarding resorts, lakes, rivers, hiking and some of the most spectacular mountains on earth. You can snowshoe, fish, canoe, paddle board and more! It is secluded, and away from the city. We have buffalo's as our neighbors! Kamas is the nearest town for gas and groceries, 15 minutes away. Try the famous Woodland Biscuit company for breakfast when you stay! Please follow directions when coming here, as sometimes cell phone service is sparce. The bed room is a large, open, gorgeous loft trimmed with juniper. Keep an eye out for the wildlife! There are big cats, bears, eagles and coyotes in the area. Be aware as the winter months come, that there can be a lot of snow here, so 4WD will be very helpful, if not required. My cat Sampson, who is a mild mannered indoor-outdoor cat also lives here! Cabin Retreat is a beautiful vacation cabin with year round access, nestled in the mountains of Heber City, Utah, only 45 minutes from Park City and the Sundance Film Festival. The cabin is situated within 40 minutes of Robert Redford's Sundance ski resort. Drive 26 minutes to Midway (Swiss Days) and Soldier Hollow where you can enjoy cross country skiing/sledding in the winter & golfing in the summer. Skiing, snow boarding, ice fishing and much more are only minutes away. Our family completed construction of our cabin in the mountains east of Heber in 2014. We spend weekends regularly there, but offer it to family, friends and others we know will take care if it on special occasions throughout the year. We ask for no pets, no smoking, and no parties/gatherings other than our guests. Cleanliness and respect to neighbors is important to us. Our cabin has two large great room areas, one upstairs with a gas fireplace and windows looking across the valley, and one downstairs with a flat screen for movies, chess table, and place for the kids to play. Huge couches in both comfortably seat 8. The large kitchen is well equipped for any of your cooking needs, and the dining table also seats 8. The cabin has beds for 7 -- one queen in each bedroom upstairs, and one double and one twin in the bedroom downstairs. There are two bathrooms, with a bathtub / shower upstairs, and a large shower downstairs. We built a walk-in closet adjacent one of the bedrooms for the purpose of sleeping a baby - as that is how we used it when our kids were young. We spend most of our time at the cabin outdoors. The wrap around deck on the front and side offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valley below, an ideal setting for a family BBQ, watching the sunset, or spotting wildlife (we see deer on every visit, but also moose, elk, fox, etc). We have a 6 person hot tub in the backyard. Location is in a gated cabin community 7 miles east of Heber Main Street and 20 miles southeast of Park City. Our cabin is about 1 mile inside the gate, so 15 minutes from Heber, 30 min from Park City/Deer Valley, 40 min from Sundance, and one hour from either Utah County or Salt Lake County. Each time of year offers something wonderful: summers are for deer and moose watching, golfing and boating at nearby Deer Creek Reservoir or Jordanelle. Spring and fall offer great nearby hiking, fishing and 4 wheeling; and winters are filled with skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and sledding. Rentals of ATVs and snowmobiles can be delivered from Heber to access the national forest a few miles up the road and offer days of exploring in all directions. Parking of snowmobiles on the property is not feasible, and Timberlakes restricts snowmobiles inside of the gate community to owners only with strict adherence to passes issued. Access in the winter can be challenging, as the roads are gravel and steep, especially right in front of our lot, and including our driveway. 4x4 truck or SUV is needed from November to March. Chains may be needed in case of storm or melting snow that turns to ice. Also, Timberlakes only plows the roads at the conclusion of snowfall, so it is possible to get "stuck" at the cabin for a day while waiting out a storm! Update on electronic connectivity: - Internet: Wifi just installed (as we avoided it for many years to truly get away). Speed is 20MB. No streaming services setup. - Phone: Verizon and TMobile work well, but there are spotty areas (including Timberlakes gate is notoriously bad). If you want to bring your four wheelers or utv's there are miles of private road and just a few miles up the canyon you can access the entire unitah national forest. For rent is a 4 bed/3 bath 2,800 sq. foot cabin on two acres in a desirable location 30 minutes from Park City Utah. It can sleep 14 easily. It is in a secluded gated community in the mountains yet only 10-15 minutes to major shopping stores and the town. The cabin is within 30 minutes of the three major ski resorts in Park City (Park City Ski Resort, Deer Valley, and The Canyons), Soldier Hollow (cross-country skiing) and Sundance Ski Resort. It is about 40 minutes to Salt Lake City and about an hour or so from other major ski resorts near SLC. It is about 50 minutes from the SLC airport. The home has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a television room, two large family rooms with fireplaces, a game room, a laundry room, an office, walk-in closets, and a hot tub. There are heated floors in the main level bathroom and TV room. There is one king bed, one queen bed, two full beds, one bunk bed and one single bed. An inflatable queen mattress is available for us. There is a nice deck that wraps around the entire cabin and a private boardwalk that goes around one acre of land. In the winter the main roads are plowed to the cabin. There is a high-end snow blower in the shed if needed to clear the driveway. The cabin is great for kids and has toys, many board games, books, and more.
